Christina was born and raised in Durham, NC, and studied Environmental Science at Duke University. She spent time learning at the Duke Marine Lab in Beaufort, NC, where kayaking through salt marshes and oyster-studded shorelines shaped her passion for climate adaptation and environmental health.
Christina’s background also includes work at the intersection of environmental science and storytelling. Through the Environmental Justice Oral History Project, she contributed to journalism and oral history work focused on environmental harm and community advocacy in Eastern North Carolina.
Her research experience includes work connected to environmental toxicology. Her recent work with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Research and Development focused on public health risk assessment for endocrine disrupting chemicals.
In her free time, Christina enjoys cooking for friends and family, dance classes, and swimming and paddling her way through every body of water she can find.
