Haw River Assembly

The Haw River Assembly is a 501c3 nonprofit citizens’ group founded in 1982 to restore and protect the Haw River and Jordan Lake, and to build a watershed community that shares this vision. Our mission is to promote environmental awareness, conservation and pollution prevention; to speak as a voice for the river in the public arena; and to put into peoples’ hands the tools and the knowledge they need to be effective guardians of the river. The Haw River Assembly is dedicated to the goal of environmental justice and equality for all people in our watershed.

Mountain True

Mountain True champions resilient forests, clean waters, and healthy communities in the Southern Blue Ridge with programs that include the French Broad Riverkeeper, Watauga Riverkeeper, Green Riverkeeper, and Broad Riverkeeper.

To monitor and protect the Neuse and Tar-Pamlico River watersheds covering nearly one quarter of North Carolina, and to preserve the health and beauty of the river basin through environmental justice.

Winyah Rivers Alliance

Our mission is to protect, preserve, monitor and revitalize the health of the lands and waters of the greater Winyah Bay watershed, 11,700 square miles in SE North Carolina and NE South Carolina. Winyah Rivers Alliance hosts the Lumber RIVERKEEPER® and the Waccamaw RIVERKEEPER®.

Yadkin Riverkeeper

Our vision for Yadkin Riverkeeper is to not only protect our drinking water, but to reconnect the people of the watershed with the river. While we monitor, educate, and take action to keep the water clean, we should also remember to enjoy this resource – the history, the wildlife, the opportunities for fishing, boating, and just plain playing in the water, that the river has to offer. My goal as Riverkeeper is to encourage everyone to protect, appreciate, and enjoy the Yadkin river – fishable, swimmable, drinkable water for all.
